Upon admittance, all conference participants must submit one piece of writing to be workshopped at the conference. As part of the workshop, all participants will receive written feedback from both the workshop instructor and from fellow participants.

Page Guidelines Per Genre

  • Fiction:  a minimum of seven and a maximum of 17 pages
  • Creative Nonfiction: a minimum of seven and a maximum of 17 pages
  • Poetry: a minimum of four and a maximum of eight pages

All manuscripts should be typed. Prose should be double-spaced; poetry can be single-spaced. Please keep margins to one inch and font size in the 10-12 point range. Please do not submit more than the specified number of pages.

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically, either in Word or PDF format, to the Rutgers Sakai website no later than June 2, 2015. To login to Sakai, you will need your RUID or, if taking the class for a Certificate of Appreciation, your email address. Detailed instructions for accessing and uploading manuscripts to Sakai will be emailed to participants upon admittance to the conference.

Additional Writing Submissions for Course Credit

For participants taking the conference for credit, a second piece of writing (same length and formatting guidelines as listed above) must also be submitted for review and written comment by a conference faculty member post-conference. Details for submitting a second piece of writing will be provided at the conference.
