31st Annual Rutgers University–Camden Summer Writers’ Conference
June 27-July 7, 2016
As of 2017, the Summer Writers Conference will suspend operation. Thank you for many years of support and good writing.
The Rutgers University Camden Summer Writers’ Conference is an intensive, inspiring and informative ten-day conference of writing workshops, craft classes, agent and editor presentations, and readings by our nationally-known faculty of poets and writers.
Our multi-genre conference encourages participants to attend writing workshops and craft classes in all genres, regardless of the focus of their own writing. Since many of our conference faculty themselves are cross-genre writers, participants have a unique opportunity to ask questions and learn more about cross-genre writing.
The conference is open to both Rutgers students and the community, though some prior workshop or professional writing experience is required. The conference may be taken for credit (graduate or undergraduate) or as a non-credited Certificate of Achievement. Although conference workshops are open only to conference registrants, please note the afternoon readings are free and open to the public.
While at the conference, participants will also have the opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Philadelphia as Rutgers University Camden is just a bridge away from Philly, which offers everything a writer could want in a city – independent bookstores, museums, art galleries, cultural events, festivals, and award-winning restaurants.
We hope to see you this summer!
In the meantime, please contact us should you have any questions.
